Windows local machine to Linux server?

I have previously uploaded my shop from being installed/tested on a Windows local machine to a Windows server with no problems. Is it possible to do the same but upload from a Windows local machine to a Linux server? I don't have much Linux experience so I'm not sure what it would involve. I ask this because I can't seem to get Zencart installed on my local Linux machine for testing - otherwise it would just be straight Linux to Linux.

Sometimes the Linux environment can be a little hostile to the .htaccess file provided with Zencart. You can try renaming it to htaccess.txt to see if it makes a difference.

Just for reference, I had no issues whatever uploading from my win2k/xampp local installation to run on the linux server.

Ok, so its definately possible... its just a matter of doing it right. I havent begun yet, but let me know if you get it to work and what problems you encountered that might make mine easier. I appreciate it.
