    help question Link to download product not showing

    I apologize if this has come up before, but I've spent several hours of scouring the forums and can't seem to find anything on this.

    I am running Zen-Cart version 1.2.6 with several "add ons" installed with no prior issues. I am attempting to add a brochure as a download document-product. I want it to be a product because I would like to have the customer register to receive it even though it is free. I've set the document-product as free, gave it an attribute, etc., etc. I've uploaded the file to the download directory, etc. etc. I get all the proper indications that all is as it should be. Green light, shows up in download manager etc.

    I believe I followed the instructions appropriately but when I enter an order for the document-product and go through check out, everything works the way it is supposed to EXCEPT there is no link to the download generated on the check-out success page, the account history page, or the email sent to the customer.

    Any ideas?? Thanks in advance for any input.

    Check that the download filename has a green dot in the attributes controller for that product ...

    You should also see the green dot in the Download Manager as well ...

    Make sure that you have loaded the download in /download and that /pub is set to 777

    Downloads should be zipped and contain no spaces, special characters and the like ...

    Make sure that the download is listed in the order, otherwise it sounds like you have a radiobutton that is not selected when the product is added to the cart ... without seeing the URL to this product, I can only guess on this one ...

    Thanks for the reply Linda, but everything is set properly. I have the green light, I have the radio button set as default in attributes, the product shows up in the cart, the download shows up on the admin console in the order detail as available. The order detail shows up on the check out success page but where it says "Download Here:" there is no button and no link. The same is true in the account section. All the detail shows up but no link.

    I'm wondering if any of the mods I've installed - particularly order tracking - may be interfering. Perhaps you could direct me where to begin looking. I'm not a coder by any means but I can compare the current code to what should be if I know what files to compare.

    It could be anything ...

    When you add the product to the shopping cart do you see the attribute for the download as well?

    Also what kind of setting do you have added to the Option Name? It should be a Radiobutton or a Dropdown ...

    And how are you managing the Option Values for this Option Name?

    Yes, when you add to the cart you see the attribute setting. I set it up with the option name Download and the attribute value of radio button with the default set to select. So there are no options for the customer to select it automatically selects. I FTP'd the file (a pdf brochure that I zipped) to the Download directory.

    Not sure I understand what mean by how I'm managing the options?

    Just want to make sure all the settings are correct to start with ...

    What happens if you switch to Classic Template? Does it work now?

    What Payment method are you using? What is the Order Status on that Payment Method?

    I tried switching back to the classic template but I apparently have something amiss since I get errors. So I have not been able to do that.

    I'm using the FREE CARD payment method and have the order status set to Processing.

    Because it's not working I don't have it active, but if it would help I could activate this product so you could take a look at it.....if you would like.
