What version of Zen Cart did you install?

That error suggests that you're running PHP 5.2.x with code older than v1.3.7.1.

Somehow I don't think you did.

You'll need to manually apply these fixes to your files:

solution "b" is what you want, and you need to do BOTH of your sessions.php files:
    /includes/functions/sessions.php
    /admin/includes/functions/sessions.php

However, if you're only just starting with a new install, then you'd be far better off using the most recent code instead.
