i'm trying to cut down on some of the stuff on my front page (Using Red Passion but not sure it is template specific). I have Monthly Specials, Featured Products and New Products all in the main text area in the centre. How can I get rid of these?

Turn them off in your Admin> Configuration> Index Listings
