RSS2 Feed Contribution

Good morning! Sorry I pooped out last night (this early morning). I'd been working on this site for almost 2 days straight.

Nigel, I did find a leftover SSU .htaccess file in the root directory, which I have now replaced. Some of these uninstalls are not "clean" uninstalls, are they?

As far as the order of things, I went to this link:

which is the demo of the template I'm using. The source for that is the same as mine except for the canonical link reference. Now *after* that section is a whole other story. omg....

I'm going to finish my coffee and probably drink another pot.

Any insights?

Check your admin and see if gzip compression is turn on if it is turn it off and see if that has any effect.

gzip was on...now it's off. Interesting...a page full of data, some of which I had selected NOT to appear in the RSS feed (like price), and some of it repeated twice.

Good Morning to you.
You can click the Rss Feed button at the bottom of the page with chrome, and IE8 to see whats going on. I see pictures and a lot more. Something is not quite installed right. Go back and re-check each file to see if they are in there correct location and check manually to make sure there is no extra lines and spaces in the language and other additional files.

One more thing check your cache file on your server to see if there are any rss feed cache files there. If there are delete them.

I have turned them off in the admin but they still display in IE

I dont use the reviews feature and my images are watermarked using image handler, however the image link in the rss feed takes me to a un-watermarked image, so I would rather it be turned off.

Apart from that, this mod works fine in the latest zen version

I just checked my rss feed and found that it is not working anymore, was working correctly for years, I'm getting the following error:

XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
Location: http://www.thesourceltd.com/index.ph...d=new_products
Line Number 2, Column 1:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>

So I read thru the posts and turned gzip compression off, now the rss feed page spits out all the data, however it's a mass of text in the html, no images, no styling, it's just a mess of text, i.e.:

I have also checked for spaces, of which I found none and also looked for and replaced "?>" with "// EOF" at the end of each file edited/added.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
