Default Re: Protx VSP Direct 3.x

    Hi

Sorry first of all if I am asking a dumb question here but have spent a lot of the day tryiing to get things working and sense of humour starting to waver!

I am doing a test transaction with my UK Maestro Card (and also with the test details supplied with the mod) and I am getting a big red box up with:

Your card could not be authorised! Did you enter the correct 3D-Secure password? If not, please try again, otherwise please try another card. If you are still having difficulties please contact us for further assistance.
(4046 : 3D-Authentication required. Cannot authorise this card.)

Is this easy to put right? I am not getting any option to actually enter any password.

    Many thanks.

    Rob

It sounds like you're most of the way there, the module appears to be installed correctly, the error you are reporting is an account settings problem. I'll contact you privately about how to fix this as it wouldn't be of much interest to others on this forum! :)

    All the best...

help question Re: Protx VSP Direct 3.x

    Hi Conor,

Thanks for the upgraded module - it looks good. I've got a problem with it though! When on the final stage of the checkout screen under this part of the screen

Your Card Issuer's 3D-Secure Authorisation Page is displayed below. Please complete the form your Card Issuer presents you with so that your card can be securely authorised. Your order will then be created.

If your card isn't registered for 3D-Secure your Card Issuer may include a link below to register your card now. Alternatively, they may even offer the facility to skip 3D-Secure authorisation at this time. If so, a means to do so will also be displayed below (not all Card Issuers offer this facility).
there is a 'page not found'.

I have the protx_direct_3d_secure_iframe.php in my public_html folder. Any idea what's wrong?

    Many thanks,

    Gary

Thanks for the nice comments! It was a huge amount of work and it seems to have been worth it... all your stores look much more professional now....

...once they're working of course! :)

If you have the file uploaded in the correct place and are still getting a 404 then it's highly likely that you have some SEO contribution installed which is rewriting the name of the file and therefore resulting in it not being found.

The only way for me to know if this is what's happening or to fix it is if I can log into your site and debug.. I'll contact you privately for the details.. thought others might like to have this in the thread though in case it happens to them too!

    All the best...

    Hi Conor,

    Hope you are well.

I have customers who sometimes place orders by telephone. I understand there is no way to create an order via the admin interface. Suggestions on other posts say to use Master password where you can log in as a customer using an admin password. This sounds fine so far...

The question is would/could the card that was used ask for a 3D secure password?

FYI I am using Protx Direct 3.4.2
    Many thanks

Thanks very much for the nice comments. Coincidentally I had a review at the hospital today and the news was reasonably good so I'm fairly happy right now. :)

That is a very handy thing to be able to do but I'm afraid it will never be possible with 3D-Secure. 3D-Secure is the online equivalent of Chip-n-Pin and so each customer has to keep their password private; they choose it themselves and are forbidden by their bank from disclosing it to others. You are breaking the law if you enter a 3D-Secure password for someone else. Few cards require 3D-Secure authorisation at this time so you can still use the above system to charge them, but for cards that do require it (like Maestro) you cannot legally enter details on behalf of a customer.

That isn't great news for store owners but I do believe it's a good idea for the security of card transactions!

    All the best...

    Conor,

Glad to hear there is good news regarding health.

I understand store owners should not be entering passwords for 3D secure.

Currently, we take telephone orders by going directly to VPS Admin interface and take payment for Maestro without needing to enter the password of the customer. So I was thinking could this be possible to do through Zen Cart. It would be nice to keep all orders going through the same channel.

It would be possible if the module sent through a "Don't use 3D-Secure" message or, possibly if it indicated that the transaction type was MOTO rather than e-commerce.

This would have to be custom coded to work with whatever software you are using to put orders through the admin. Please get in contact with me privately and let me know what software (extra modules to handle admin side payments) you are running etc. and I'll see if a bit of code can be written to let you do what you want to do!

    All the best...
