paypal express / postage etc

Ive been setting up my site, and have just got onto sorting out paypal express. ive got a business acount,. setup the user/pass and other details you have to put into your zencart payment details regarding your paypal account, and was testing it out, and noticed you get the big yellow paypal button when going to your checkout, which is fine, as it all seems to work when you go off to paypal to pay. my question is, is how does someone purchasing something, select delivery method/cost etc, as this is on the page after the page with the paypal express yellow button ? am i missing something ? any advice is most welcome. thanks.

You will actually be redirected back to ZenCart again to choose shipping method and apply any coupon.

ah i see.

what if you continue through the normal method, it says 'payment method paypal' etc. then continue through that method ? does that still take you to the express checkout ?

im just about to try this,. but wanted to know from someone who knows/already has it working, what i should expect.

what i dont understand is how paypal express checkout is supposed to be, kinda,. quick, as in,. express. if you select the yellow button, enter your details, then as said, takes you back to your site and shipping choice etc etc, or select the normal cart button and continue then enter shipping choice, then onwards, arent they just the same thing just done in a different order ?

By default the switch to auto-select cheapest shipping should bypass the shipipng page, and if there are no coupon or gift certificate options activated in the store, then the payment page will also be bypassed, thus allowing the customer to come back from paypal and go directly to the confirmation screen ... and when they click Confirm, the payment gets collected and the order is stored.

You can disable the auto-select-cheapest shipping by changing the setting in the Express Checkout module.
You can turn off all coupon and gift-certificate support by removing those modules from Admin->Modules->Order Total.
