this is happening to me too. I set up a test product file today and it is showing on the server the zip is whole. But when i download it to my pc it downloads with a much smaller size and the zip folder is empty.
Hello all,
I m having a similar problem. I am just setting up my shop, and the downloads were working fine (I keep testing everything I upload, had a couple of test downloads as well and they worked fine). But suddenly it stopped working. When I download the file it is only 4 KB, when I unzip it tells me: download is invalid. If this helps, when I press download button and pop up window comes up asking me if I want to save or open this file, it tell me that the file is: VBScript Script File , and I don't know if it was like this before (I am not a computer person so not sure what that means). I tried downloading the files from my cpanel to my computer and they work fine.
I use download by redirect (though as I understand it won't work with windows, or am I missing something here?), cuz if I use download by streaming it doesn't work (it says the page can't be found), same is if both download by redirect and download by streaming are enabled.
My info
OS Windows Vista
Zen Cart Version 1.3.9a, new installation
Hosting provider http://www.hostinginsiders.com/
Browser Firefox
What I have tried so far to fix the problem (and it didn't work):
Changed permission of /pub folder and /download folder to 777
Re-uploaded the files
Deleted the products and created same new ones
Zipped the folders again and uploaded them again
Tried changing the download options, by redirect, by streaming, both false, both true, one false and the other true
Tried downloading from IE
Tried opening the file instead of saving it
What have I changed before the problem occurred:
I have been changing some file permissions to be able to change some things like banners, welcome texts etc.
What I haven't tried yet:
Someone mentioned to upload files in binary format, now how do I do that?
I saw another user (TimS) post the same problem recently (but couldn't reply there), the user said that the downloaded file is only 4KB, just like in my case, when in reality it's much bigger.
