Price range for price by attributes

Hi all,
Our client wants the price for products that are priced by attributes to show up differently on the product listing page. Currently it shows the price as $46.00, and then on the product details page it shows "Starting at $46.00" and the prices go up to $400+.

In order to more accurately reflect the price range on the product listing page, I would ideally like to show something like "$46.00 - $455.00". If that's not possible, I'd like to turn the price off - BUT ONLY for this category.

Store is at: www.chucktheodore.com. The particular category is "Art photos".

Any help will be hugely appreciated!

It would take quite a bit of custom coding to pull both the lowest and highest values of a product cost for those based on attributes ...

It might be easier to have the Product Listing show the price as Starting At: $xx.xx

The display function for the price is in the:
/includes/functions/functions_prices.php

That is used everywhere the price is displayed except the shopping cart and checkout ...

Modifying that can get complex ...

What you are trying to do is add the text Starting At: in the product listing ...

To make it easier, this can be done by either checking if there are attributes on the product or checking if the product is priced by attributes etc. and then just adding on the text before the price is echoed out in the product listing ...
