I don't want all the categories to show in the cat tab

I have searched for hours and cannot find the answer. I have my category broken into the product - general and document - general types. In my category tab bar at the top, all the different categories are shown and it's obnoxious. I only want to show the document-general categories in the cat tab bar.

Does anyone know how to do this? You can check out what it looks like now at www.readycabinets.com.

I only want the cabinet styles to list in the green bar - not the cabinet types.

The category tabs is not designed to do that. You could hardcode a menu bar in place of it that only has links to the categories you want.

Guidelines toward your solution will be in the Parent Categories Separated in Three Sideboxes thread started by enchantedlingerie. That deals with the categories sidebox, but the code for discriminating which categories to show can most likely be applied to the cat-tabs menu.

In your tpl_header override file.

Ok, I'll give that a try (or maybe just delete the whole thing). I spoke with the client and they kind of like the whole extra category list gone. Is there a way to have the green divider bar without having anything in it? What would I remove from that header file?

You could manually create a green bar in your header file.

The other option is to use EZ pages and create internal site links that way to just the main categories. You could then set the CSS code to be the green background.

Turn the Categories Tabs menu off from your admin - Add a green bottom border to one of the other header elements as a divider.

I want to turn OFF the category tab, BUT I want to keep the decorative bar there.

I can't see your site right now, but one thing that would most likely work (provided the "green bar" is a solid color) is to add to #headerWrapper {} in your stylesheet:

border-bottom: 23px solid #00ff00;

Adjust to taste.
