Admin pages do not update values !!

Update ... solved on my own ...

This started when I could not get the SSL on the site to work and asked the host to enable SSL for the ENTIRE SITE even the HTML pages ... They guy edited the .htaccess file and put a redirect for all HTTP pages to HTTPS ... From then on, the admin panel has been acting up ...
This is also one of the reasons I could not get the favicon to work on my site ... It started working immediately after I edited the .htaccess and pasted it back ...
