    Default Order completed but no Paypal?

    This is a new one for me.. I strictly use Paypal IPN as my payment method. Last night, an order completed but no paypal at all. Nothing pending either.

    Any ideas? I emailed the customer to ask if she had experienced any problems during checkout but I have not heard back yet.

    UPDATE: After emailing and chatting with this customer, all of the signals point to the user having some sort of "bad" paypal account. I kept getting excuses like the account is messed up, I have been on hold for 30 minutes, can you just take a check or my credit card over the phone? Can I come pickup the books today if I bring you a check?

    Invoices sent to the person through PayPal Merchant Services would not give her the option to pay by credit card, but only to sign in.

    This led me to believe that her Paypal account was suspended for whatever reason and when she tried to use it to pay for her purchases, it kicked it back. The only thing I can figure out is that when she was denied access to pay for things for whatever reason, it sent a code back to my store saying the order was complete.

    She tried to order two other times with the same result: Order confirmation, the order was there, but no Paypal payment recorded.

    So, is this a bug? Does Zencart handle "bad" Paypal transactions differently?

    Do you have your PayPal IPN module set to record debug logs? If so, it might be possible to find the cause by reviewing those files if you were to share them.

    If you don't have debug logging enabled, there's not much more we can do about it.

    Well of course not. :) I will flip that switch on should my "customer" return and try again. Thanks for the feedback and I'll let you guys know if it happens again.
