Header Main Bar resizing

I tried all these steps but for some reason I can not resize my header area.
Currently I have 681x249 and 265x249 2 images next to each other on my heather area. I would like to change the height from 249px to 125 px, so the new image sizes will be 681x125 and 265x125.

You have to use your graphic editor to resize your images
