Changing directory on upgrading ?

Currently I have my site set up so when you go to the site it redirects you to mysite.com/store Which causes longer loading due to the redirecting.

If I were to upgrade would I be able to change the directory to be installed on the main part of the site as in mysite.com as opposed to mysite.com/store ? I would be upgrading from 1.3.0.1 to the latest version.

Recommended that you upgrade to a new install and say make it mysite.com/new or test or??

When you are 150% happy then you can move all the files at /new to /

Edit the configure.php files(2 of them) to reflect this relocation and might have to get and run fix cache (in the downloads/other).

So right now I could edit those conf files and it will send the site to / instead of site.com/store ?

Should I also make a new database ? Or can I read off the current database ? I will have to edit the payment processing and such with my linkpoint user id and everything too correct ?

Not unless you have also moved/copied the files to that location

A new DB and then after the install - load your current DB to it and re-run zc_install and upgrade the DB only...your payment and all other settings stored in the DB will not have to be re-entered.

Can not read off the current DB as you will get a DB version mis-match
