I'm not exactly sure that this is the correct place for this post, so if it isnt please move it to the correct place. on to my issue. I have a page with multiple sections (home, articles, systems about us, forum), the shopping cart will only be used on one section(systems) I guess I could install zen cart on the entire site or just in systems, anyway, I need it to be set up so that when the user clicks on systems, they are presented with a list of 3 links, each corresponding to a catagory of the systems I offer, when they go from there, they are once again presented with 2- 4 links each corresponding to a system within that catagory, the user would then click on one of these and be taken to a full page with images and a description of the system, I want them to be able to customize aspects of the system, my problem lies in the customization of each system, and the catagory system, I want to be able to build my own page, and then simply assign each <a> tag as a catagory or system, not have the page built for me. if this isnt clear in my objectives let me know and I can post an image with a flow chart of my site and what I am trying to acheive. thank you in advance for your help.

If you want to build all of this category navigation yourself and only go into Zen Cart at the very end, you are going to have a big job which is outside the scope of this forum.

If you install Zen Cart in a subfolder and go into the ZC home page when you click on systems, you can, mostly through styling and admin settings, easily achieve the essential flow you describe. You can give pages any layout you want - there is a default layout, but it is highly customizable.

I cannot provide a link just yet as I am still looking for a reliable host. The aspects of the system I want to be customizable would be Ram size, Processor speed, Harddrive size and optical drive type (DVD Burner, HD DVD BluRay etc) I also want to be able to add parts, like choosing a monitor, and other peripherals, I have heard of a technique for this where each upgrade or additional part would have its own SKU, and would be used to determine the final cost, the only problem is I think there might be an easier way, and I dont know exactly how to use this method.

You can just install a local host on your own computer, search the forum for "xampp"
