After applying fixes below i get a error message of ": Your credit card could not be authorized for this reason. Please correct any information and try again or contact us for further assistance.". I have ssl enabled on the site. Can anyone help me with this problem.

I am using the eway xml module for Here.

I have changed the cc number to '4444333322221111' and also applied the fix in the Post 'eWay payment module (fix)'.

Are the errors showing up in your eWay control panel?
Im trying to work out if, Zen-Cart is stopping it, or if eWay is sending back an error message.

    Oh wait...

I think I know the problem.

Even if you set it to test, it doesnt actually use the number entered in the form.

What it does is it pulls it from the hard coded one set in the eway.php var in your modules folder.

And the one it tests is 41111111111111111 which is there old test number.

I think you need to manually change it to the new test number.

Alternatively just run some live tests through it with fake numbers and see if you get Eway errors or Zen Cart ones.

You should get some error emails too.

    Regards.

Idea or Suggestion Re: Eway Payment Module Problem

The problem was this old module did not correctly use zen-cart's built in messageStack to display errors, the error code was just added to the url but never showed on the page. Also, in test mode the transaction result returned by eWay is based on the last two digits of the amount sent, so $10.50 returns code 50 which makes the transaction fail, use a total ending in 00 to get successful payment.

i have contributed a new eWay payment module that addresses this issue (among others).

Wait for v2.1 to be approved, v2 has other bugs.
