Trying to Find a Basic Shipping Mod

I am converting an existing cart to Zen Cart. Everything is great accept shipping Mods. If I use UPS Real Time California Residents pay $23.00 and New York pays $7.00.

I ship from east coast that is why. I will lose the West Coast sales if my shipping was this high.

My shipping now works like this: I have a flat rate of $7.95 and then it adds $0.28 cents per pound to calculate shipping. Same for everyone.

Another problem with the UPS mod is that if I have 2 cases each weighing 18 pounds, I need to ship these as two separate boxes with each having a UPS label.

The UPS mod does not account for each package. It ads the weight together and quotes cost based on (1) 36 pound package plus the 3lb cushion.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated as this is the last segment of configuration and tweaking before I go live.

First, thanks for the super fast reply. I loaded it and put $7.95 for handling. Where do i specify the $0.28 cents per unit weight? That is where I am stuck.
