lightbox and additional images

Hi All,

Hoping that someone can maybe tell me what I m doing wrong here.

I have downloaded the lightbox from downloads and installed it - the first installation was working fine - but my additional product images were opening in a pop up still. The main image was opening in a lightbox stylee!

I re-installed the latest version of lightbox working on the assumption thaat maybe I missed something first time round - but now my additional images don't show at all - at first I thought/hoped that the lack of additional images meant that when lightbox was working I would get the previous/next buttons in there and I could see them there - but no absolutely nothing.

What have I done wrong???!
Anyone had similar hassles?

Try installing Lightbox 1.3.
The newest 1.4 seems to have a few bugs with additional images.

I run into this problem too but haven't had time to debug it. 1.3 works fine.

...okay - I re-installed the lightbox as version 1.3 and the addtional images show up on the main product info page but now the problem is that when in lightbox if I click on the next button the lightbox shrinks/resizes but the I get a little icon with a question mark and the text 2of2 stacked but no image showing!

What needs to be done to fix it? It is sooo close to working as I want it to!!!

...HMM! I've been trying to work out why the lightbox is not calling the images - looking at the url when I use "open image in new window" the lightbox is calling the image from the "large" folder and not the main directory - but even when I use ftp to put the relevant image in that folder and retitle the image with the _LRG.jpg it still doesn't bring it in????

Is there a line that I can change so that the lightbox calls in the relevant image from the main directory?

It's doing my head in!!!

I've always used Lightbox in conjunction with Image Handler 2 and let IH2 upload and place the images in the proper directory. IH2 renames and puts everything in the main image dir and then uses the bmz-cache dir for serving all it's processed images from.

Using LightBox by itself, I would imagine that the normal image naming rules would apply.

For additional images it would be something like this:

my_item_abc.jpg -first image
my_item_abc_01.jpg -second image
my_item_abc_02.jpg -third image... and all in the main images folder.

If you are making separate large and medium images, I'd have to point you to the tutorial in the Help section. Much better info than I could write here.

I'd encourage you to take a look at the Image Handler 2 module as well. IH2 and LightBox go together like chocolate and peanutbutter. And the combo eliminates having to worry about making and managing different sizes of the same image and FTPing them to your site.
