price per square inch question

I'm having difficulty setting up items with a price per square inch pricing system.

I found http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33423 in the archives, but I can't seem to get it to work with 1.3.7.

The problem in the archived thread is exactly the situation I'm in, so if anyone can help make it work, or help me set up an item correctly, it'd be much appreciated.

To be clear - your have products where the customer enters in a height and length and you need to calculate the price based on the total area?

We have installed the code from http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33423 into 1.3.7 to allow me to sell lumber by the board foot. Thickness x Width x Length all in inches then x the product price and it works well.

I'm a printer trying to sell custom sized prints using Zen Cart. I think this is what I've been searching for all along. I'll post an update if I can get it to work with my site, as well as a link to examples.

I got this to work on my site, partially. However, if I add a custom sized product before a normal product, my totals calculate fine, but if I add a normal product first then the totals multiply eachother after adding custom-priced items.

Anybody else experiencing a similar problem?
