Gift certificate says it's redeemed -but it isn't

Hi

Zencart 1.37

Exactly that the gift certificate says it has been redeemed but the customer who is supposed to have redeemed it has made no orders yet

Senders ID: 16
Amount Sent: $40.00
Date Sent: 14/09/2007
Redemption Code: *********
Email Addr: [email protected]

Date Redeemed: 16/10/2007
IP Address: **.**.**
Customer Id: 180

Now when i check the database under

coupon_gv_customer

it says that customer 180 has $40


And that is where I am stuck, if it is there it should work shouldn't it?

Ok Problem solved -- I think

The customer had already redeemed the Gift certificate when they followed the link from the gift certificate email. when the customer got to the checkout at this step

Step 2 Payment Information

They entered the redemption code in the redemption code box, when they should have been entering the amount (from the redeemed gift Cert) that they wanted to apply to this purchase in the box right next to it

At least thats what i think happened, as thats the only way i can replicate what they have done

That is correct ...

A Gift Certificate must be redeemed to add the amount to the customer's account for GVs ...

But ... to actually use the Gift Certificate, the amount has to be entered by the customer as some customers:

1 buy GVs and redeem to email to others ...

2 get GVs and only want to use a portion on an order and perhaps save the rest for later ...

3 get GVs and only want to use a portion on an order and perhaps save the rest to send to a friend ...
