    Default MyGiftList and Zen-cart

Anybody using MyGiftList.com for gift registry? I tried to use this but ran into a brick wall when it came to Affiliate 2 where you create "Add to MyGiftList" button. WIth over 1000 product items, this is not efficient for me. Does anyone have a quick way to add these buttons to their website?

Incidently, there has been talk about a mod for gift registry but no news in a while. Does anyone have anything else that they can recommend for gift registry?

They have a modified tpl_product_info_display.php file that will automatically add the button to every product. It's in the top nav when you are logged in...

They have instructions at http://www.mygiftlist.com/affiliates...e_zen-cart.asp but the link takes you to the download page for Zen-cart at http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...ndex&cPath=40&. Is it no longer available? Did you use it?

    Hi,

I did use it and it is super-easy to install.

at http://www.mygiftlist.com/affiliates...e_zen-cart.asp step 3 has the file for various versions of zen. Just download the appropriate file and read the instructions. The only modified file is the tpl_product_info_display.

Unfortunately, this solution will not work for me... I want people to stay on my site. I need a zen mod to do this. The "other cart" has one but unfortunately I don't have the skills to port the mod. I've posted an ad in the Commercial Help Wanted section if anyone is up to the task!

I actually contacted them last week to create the new ZC1.3.7 version which I am glad that they did. If you subscribe to level 3 which I think is still free, you get a code that you can put on your site so that customers login on your site and it works.

I followed the instructions from the readme file...you are right, it's as easy as inserted code they give you into a specific area of the tpl_product_info_display.php file. The only problem is, the file I have does not have the code:echo $display_button; How did you get around this? I have ZC1.3.7.

I can't even find the tpl_product_info_display.php file so I can add this registry!

I am using a custom template (someone else designed and created my store) and I don't see this file anywhere. Would someone help me out? I am always running into a "brick wall" when it comes to zen cart...I have no idea what i'm doing most of the time.

If your designer used the override system, and she did NOT edit tpl_product_info_display.php, then it would NOT be found in includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates folder.

Check and see if you can find it in:
    includes/templates/temlate_default/templates

Then once you make changes, make sure to save your changed copy in includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates, leaving the template_default unchanged.
