    Default email issues

    I'm doing a test run basically trying everything out before I setup my real shop. I'm live as well, I setup my real email address in the admin settings but when I try to send an email to myself at a different address firstly the from part is still set to [email protected] even though I change it, it always reverts back to that. The emails do not get sent.

    I also tried with the gift certificates and the emails weren't sent either. What's the problem here, how can I fix this.:

    Whre do you have this test run setup?

    Is it on a local WAMP or similar on your PC?

    Not sure what a local WAMP is but on my hosts server. I just made a subdomain and started from there. On the actual domain there's nothing in it. I was just wondering would that be the problem, do I need to purchase extra domain names for this to work. here is an example I have one site called cgexperience which is a joomla site I then created a subdomain called cgexperience.com/Zencarts and linked joomla to it. Do you think because it's a subdomain why it's not emailing, but then why isn't it applying the email change globally. God so many questions sigh

    I just tried it on my real site and the same thing. Just won't send any emails.

    What are the settings in admin > config > email >

    XXX Out any users & paswords if they are present

    aha looks like this is where I stuffed up I went into the admin setting and changed it there but not in the config. Great thanks for pointing that out to me, I'll let you know how goes
