Free shipping based on amount.

I'm sure I am missing something...and I am out of coffee !...but.

Trying to set up pizza ordering. Obviously for this there are only two shipping options...( Fedex is out for hot pizza ! go figure )

Store Pickup...easy.
Free Delivery with order >= $10.00 and $5.00 otherwise, which I put in the free shipping options.

All other methods of shipping are off. Problem is the freeshipping option "indicator" stays yellow and I can't figure out what to do to activate it?

In admin, go to Modules/shipping and click the Edit button associated with Free Shipping Option. Here you will see a rather extensive explanation as follows:

Enable Free Options Shipping
Free Options is used to display a Free Shipping option when other Shipping Modules are displayed. It can be based on: Always show, Order Total, Order Weight or Order Item Count. The Free Options module does not show when Free Shipper is displayed.

Setting Total to >= 0.00 and <= nothing (leave blank) will activate this module to show with all shipping modules, except for Free Shipping - freeshipper.

NOTE: Leaving all settings for Total, Weight and Item count blank will deactivate this module.

NOTE: Free Shipping Options does not display if Free Shipping is used based on 0 weight is Free Shipping. See: freeshipper

If I read you right, you charge $5.00 delivery charge for all orders under $10.00. Orders totaling $10.00 or more are delivered free. Right? If so do you have these entries in the Free Shipper?


Shipping Cost
The shipping cost will be $5.00

Total >=
Free Shipping when Total >= 10.00

Total <=
Free Shipping when Total <=

This last item should be blank, not 0.00 or anything else.

oops, I just noticed that you said "All other methods of shipping are off.".

Free shipping options module only works in conjunction with other shipping modules.

Free Options is used to display a Free Shipping option when other Shipping Modules are displayed.

You will likely find the Store Pickup module should also be turned on, and that should activate Free Shipping Options.

This is a very confusing feature and you really have to study the terminology used to fully understand how free shipping can best be configured. Watch for nuances in the terminology like [i]"shipping module"[\i] and [i]"free shipping module"[\i] (there is a difference).

Actually I have tried several combinations.
The one you suggested does not work. I tried exactly that but the status icon remains yellow and the option is not provided.

I do have another method on "Store Pickup" which is the only other option we can use.

I also tried in Order Total Modules where it says free shipping for orders over $xx dollars. When I add this that option does show up however then the store pickup option vanishes ??

I need to have two and only two options.

1) Free deliver ( shipping, will change the word later ) with orders over $10 or $5.00 otherwise and
2) Store Pickup which is, of course free.
