    Default Losing line numbers

Newbie to both ZC and Dreamweaver:

I'm currently customizing my site and have run into the problem that when I copy a default php file, customize & put it in my custom template files and then later use the Developer's Tool Kit in the admin area to search for things, all of the line numbers on my customized php files are gone. When they come up I get "Line#0:..." which has all the code crunched into one line in a huge window.

I use Dreamweaver to work on the files. Anyone know what's up? Its very annoying.

    Thanks,
    JT

What you describe suggests that your editor settings and/or your FTP settings are changing the line-endings on the files in such a way that the server sees the files as having no line-breaks.
This can happen if your FTP is set to use binary instead of ascii mode for transferring .php files.
It can also happen if your editors' line-endings settings are wonky.
