manufacturer info

I'm sorry if this posted elsewhere...but I would like to know if there is any mod available to add a description of each manufacturer on the top of the page when a customer searches by manufacturer. Similar to the category description only all about the manufacturer. Has this been done or is it possible?

I have not seen a mos for this and this would require additional DB record to contain this info and coding in the admin to allow entry -
