ok the steps to configure MAXMIND are as follow (Please note there are some assumption which I have in stated in steps )

1. I hope your zen-cart is 1.3.7 or above we are on 1.3.7

2. Download the maxmind from download section

3. Before just uploading just read the read me file which is in html format as it helps in telling what it is for and what maxmind will do

4. I assume you have account with maxmind with code XXXXX, if not then there is link in readme file sign up for free account which is sufficient

*******Lets Start uploading******
5. Instead of uploading complete folder start uploading individual files as for e.g

5a) open admin folder using ftp and upload images then both the php files in admin root and include files and folder in there respective folder.

The reason I do this it is sure bet that each file and folder is transffered to its correct place (though little bit time consuming, you can upload images folder as it is not a big deal)

6. Similarly for images folder and include folder (for include folder again each and every file and folder seperately)

7. Since we not using googlecheckout so there is no need to upload that folder but if you are using then you will need to upload that also.

8. No need to upload read me folder and file

9.Now login to your zen cart admin and goto tools->install sql patches

10. Open the SQL file using notepad which is in maxmind folder that you have downloaded file name is maxmind_orders.php

11. Copy the content and paste it in sql patches text area never ever use that upload button when you are using install sql patches always copy and paste method.

12. Now your cofiguration is done but how to query maxmind server so
goto
admin -> Configuration -> My Store
you will find Maxmind license key. click it and paste your key as in this XXXX

13. You are done

14. To check whether order is fraud or genuine goto
customer->MaxMind Order and select which ever order you want to check.

Please note it will be applicable to only new orders which are paid by credit card not for previous orders

and also backup your complete database

after you are done say thanks to zen-cart and the developer who made this excellent contribution without any charge

as there is one for oscommerce for which you have to pay 149$

I have attempted to follow your instructions and have appeared to have stuffed something up.

When I make a purchase, the following comes up:

1054 Unknown column 'high_risk_username' in 'field list'
in:

I have a couple of questions:

1. Do you know why the above error would occur?

2. Did you upload includes/modules/pages/checkout_process/header.php and
includes/modules/payment/cc.php ?

3. Do I need to concern myself with the zen-cart overrides system with this mod?

4. Do I not need to modify the includes/modules/payment/eway.php file as we are using Maxmind with Eway ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

about your questions:
1. No idea there must be some file or database entry that is interfering with your installation.

2. Yes uploaded all the files except readme and googlecheckout

3. There is nothing with override system (will be helpful to me if you can explain what you mean by this)

4. No there is nothing to modify in eway payment module (we als use eway as our payment processor)

If possible can you un-install this mod I mean can you remove all the entries from database as well as files that you have uploaded and then install again.

and I hpe you are using eway latest module not the previous one.

I am now able to make a purchase, however there is no instance of Maxmind during any part of the checkout process, or in the corresponding email, or even in admin under the actual order.

Is how it is meant to work, in that if the order is not risky, you do not see Maxmind?

If not, could you post your working cart url so that I could see how it works differently.

As far as the override question, that was concerning the aspect of zen cart in which you can have different templates. As I have a template on my zen cart, I thought that maybe I was meant to save some of the files somewhere else.
