small/large image confusion

Hi guys, im getting quite bogged down and confused regarding the whole small/large image thing, ive tryed reading a few different posts about it and i cant figure out what im upto!

ok, i have a directory:

/zencart/images/photographs
here i have uploaded lots of images, each are uploaded like this:

IMG_6249_LRG.jpg
IMG_6249_MED.jpg

(i was under the impression that i dont need a small unless i really want one)

now what i have gathered from what i read is that i just put:

image address: images/photographs/IMG_6249.jpg

and zencart will automatically use the MED & LRG versions approprately, but it isnt working!


another question (ive asked this is two other threads without response!) any tips on adding a large amount of products (photographs in this case) to a category, quickly where the image and the image name changed only? it would take AGES to add them all one by one.

need to go into

/zencart/images/large/photographs

/zencart/images/medium/photographs

The simplest solution is to use the Image handler module, that way you only have to upload one image

i dont see a "image handler module" can you explain please?

dont suppose you have a suggestion for my other question regarding adding lots of products which are similar a little easier, rather than going into admin control and adding them one by one?

basically they are all the same, photographs which arent priced, just different images, all are named the filename, and i want them all just to have the same dropdown menu with print sizes/types and prices.

it just seems such a polava to do them one by one! even if i could copy the product, changing the appropriate parts?
