Access to site IP or Domain Name

Hi all,

I have recently moved to a hosting site and had zen cart set up. Initially access to the site was by ip address which was what i wanted as i did not want the site (under development) visable from the domain name. In trying to understand what would be necessary to make the site live by domain name I asked the hosting company who informed me that it is simply a change in the includes/config.php files (both catalog and admin) they then promptly made the change.

I have had a look myself but cannot determine what the change was can someone help me out as I want to put it back to access by IP only while I am still developing.

Why don't you go into the admin and take the site down for maintenance? Check the sites in my sig. Both are currently down for maintenance and you can see what that looks like.

You can have the shop open for you to see by putting your IP in the box when you take the site down.

If this is the site Im thinking of, the changes I made were to reset the redirect that was in place,

the root htaccess file has a deadend redirect in it

HaHa I think it is the site that you are thinking of. I never new you were active on these forums although I thought I had seen the Merlin avatar before.

Anyhow I have just sent you another email as I am more confused than ever now. Please work your magic.. and explain to me in idiot terms..

Its a steep learning curve but I am eager to understand.
