can not change address

You must select a country from the Countries pull down menu.

I believe I'm having the same problem.
When a customer wishes to change the shipping address on the change shipping address screen and they have filled out the change of address complete with Country from the pulldown menu Zen Cart reports the error at the top when validating the form.


"You must select a Country from the Pulldowns Menu"

I believe the control for this is in the admin folder - customers.php

But why does it only error on change of address?

Customer cannot proceed due to this....

It would be much easier to check this by providing an URL where we can peek at what is happening ...

I tested the error by flipping the template back to classic and it went away.

For me it was a template issue. Don't know if that's something you'd like to look into further?

I did fix it by copying the file tpl_modules_checkout_new_addrees.php

from the includes/templates/template_default/templates/ directory into the directory includes/templates/(template name)/templates/ directory.

I renamed the original file to tpl_modules_checkout_new_address_old.php to keep the original just in case...

That should do it....

NOTE: if you are not making changes to the file, you do not need it in your templates and override directories ...

Only put files in these override directories if you actually make changes ... this allows for easier and faster upgrades in the future ...

I would agree now that I know a little more about the structure as I go along.
And seeing that putting the file back to it's original state solved the problem.

However just to make a point - my purchased template came with all those files.
Being relatively new to this and luckily through some painstaking work I was able to troubleshoot this...

Essentially the template writer was in error.

That is a thing to note on templates that not everyone follows the Zen Cart rules of templates and overrides nor do they follow them correctly when they build templates ...

Sometimes you lose features ...

Sometimes you have over sized templates, as in they copy all files to the templates and override directories when only a few are needed ...

etc. etc. etc.
