    Default Help please with slideshow

    Hello again,

Thank you for all the help you have given me so far!

I have been trying for days to figure out how to install a slideshow for my site. I have read everything I can find in the F.A.Q., downloaded a bunch for files to read the install docs and read most of the forums, but I'm just stuck.

I have a slideshow setup, but have no idea how to call it so it's included in my website. Obviously I am really new to zen cart and web design, and would really appreciate someone directing me to a install doc or something that directly tells me what I need to add and where I need to add it into my template file so the slideshow gets included in my site. I am pretty sure I need to edit the tpl_main_page.php file.

Please help, any direction would be great.

    Thank you very much
    Dave

I have also read this thread but cannot find any information on how to get the slideshow into the website. All of times I see "easy installation" but when I try and install as per the instructions I get error messages and my website goes down. I am not experienced enough to be able to debug the errors. I have also seen the copy and paste scripts but they say to add "this" to the "head" part of the file, and "this" to the "body". Unfortunatly in the "php" files I have trouble figuring out where the "head" and "body" areas are, assuming there is one. I have done some stuff in "html" and those areas are allot easier to find.

I know it's allot to ask, but I really need more or less step by step instructions, on how and where the slideshow gets called from the page php file.

Most instructions don't go into much detail on this part of the process, they assume you know what file to modify and how to modify them.

    Thank you for the reply,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
If your interested in a Flash fading slideshow with a manual previous and next button I can help you with that. You add your pics via ftp to your image gallery (or whatever folder you want) and you just have to edit an xml file which can easily be done via notepad. Getting the file into your Zen Cart is simple.

I would show you an example but the site I installed it on isn't finished yet so I can't post yet.

If anyone is interested let me know.

Yes, I am very interested. Thank you. I just bought the Zen Book since I have found no other solutions and I am so new to website construction. Please let me know which slideshow software you recommend and I'll start installing it.

    Thank you very much.

hi, I would also be interested in a Flash fading slideshow with a manual previous and next button (I would like the slideshow to replace the "table" on each "category page", for example, on each http://www.myshop.com/index.php?main...index&cPath=01 and 01 would be the id of my first catgory).
