Need some Help

Hi. I'm new to Zen Cart and was working on my installation of it this after noon I'm stuck on somethings:

How do I get rid of the "Have You Got Yours Yet" image under my custom test on the home page?

How do I get rid of the "This file is located in /languages/english/html_includes/classic/

NOTE: Always backup the files in /languages/english/html_includes/your_template" at the bottom of the page?

Also how do I change the links to the different pages at the top and bottom of the home page?

Any help is appreciated.

Hello,

Go to your admin section and then TOOLS-->Define Pages Editor
From there use html format or text edit format then chouse from the dropdown to edit DEFINE_MAIN_PAGE.PHP highlight all and delete and then put what you would like it to say.

You can get rid of a lot of that by creating a custom template.

To create a very basic custom template (you can build from there), you need:

• includes/languages/YOUR_TEMPLATE/english.php
• includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/index.php
• includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/header.php (to change the logo)
• includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/template_info.php
• includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_header.php
• includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_footer.php
• includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/images/logo.gif
• includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/stylesheet.css

Anywhere you see a /classic/ folder, you can create a folder for your custom template. You can copy the necessary files from either the /classic/ folder, the /template_default/ folder or the parent folder.

Edit includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/template_info.php to give your template identifying information so you'll recognize it in the admin under tools->template selection.

You can change the links in includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_header.php and includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_footer.php.
