AVANT web browser has no scroll bar

AVANT is a super nice web browser (free) that will mimic IE in every way, giving us an alternative to IE.

Having said that, I logged into admin and was checking modules and installing paypal and there was no scroll bar on right to get to the bottom. I changed zoom to 50% but that still wasnt enough to see the whole page.

Why do you believe that this is a bug in Zen Cart and not in Avant?

Welllllllll, the problem only appears on my zencart admin panel.

Im not the tecky hear. Just an observation.

It only happens inside admin not the shopping pages.


I will notify avant also.

Conversely I've not seen this in IE 5.5, 6 or 7, Firefox 1.5 or 2 on PC, Mac or Linux, Opera on PC, AOL Explorer, Safari on Mac or PC, Konquerer or Mozzilla. Which rather points to Avant.

so............not having seen it before in traditional browsers means that its not worth investigating. Avant is the ONLY IE browser that I know of that will display websites that rely on MS activex controls. Seems to me that avant could catch on and zencart would be used by those relying on avant.

Not saying that. Just questioning where on the balance of probabilities the problem is likely to lie.

Avant is very fast moving and is now up to version 11.5 build 21. By comparison, this part of Zen Cart has hardly changed since it was part of osCommerce. It's very solid, well-proven code.

I test sites across multiple browsers and platforms and a few months back tried to add Avant to that list. However, it caused more problems than it was worth and I wasted a lot of time pursuing problems that seemed to be down to that specific browser rather than the sites I was testing.

If a specific Zen Cart problem can be identified, then it should be fixed, but in that part of the code, that's unlikely to happen. So I'd put my money on this being an Avant problem unless there's more evidence pointing the other way.
