    Default Restricting Countries

    Hi
    I'm preparing a site that currently will only sell into the UK but may sell further afield in future. I have the Zones set up for only the UK Counties, but currently when a user creates an account the Countries field allows them to select countries from all over the world. I don't really want to remove all the countries from the countries table as they may need adding in later, what is the best way of addressing this - can I remove the country field from the Create Account page?

    Thanks
    RoPey

    Go to Configuration ->Customer Details

    set Create Account Default Country ID to UK

    Consider adding a real obvious note on that page that you currently ONLY ship to UK.

    Since people with addresses outside UK may still wish to create an account and have the goods shipped to a UK address (perhaps as a gift, or perhaps to a company address in UK where it'll be held for them or forwarded to them), this should cover you pretty well.

    If you have no shipping available to other locations, I suspect there's a built-in warning of some sort in ZenCart that'll catch if they try to ship somewhere other than your defined areas. (but I've never tested this, so it's just a guess).
