Default Error Message - Trying to install modules

    Hi there,

I'm a newbie and have searched and don't seem to be able to find an answer to my prob, so hoping someone here would be able to help. I don't have any PHP experience and am just following my nose.

I'm trying to load the shipping and payment modules and get the following error messages.

Warning: reset() [function.reset]: Passed variable is not an array or object in /home/liddyjoe/public_html/catalogue/admin/modules.php on line 279

Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in /home/liddyjoe/public_html/catalogue/admin/modules.php on line 280

I have reloaded my modules.php file and it is unchanged from that which I unzipped.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

    Kellie

That's probably a result of incorrectly uploading an addon/contribution you were trying to install.

What happened between installing Zen Cart and encountering that error?

    Thanks for your response.

I tried to install the Oz addons Australia Post and Direct Debit. Should I uninstall those and try again?

    Cheers

I'm not familiar with those particular modules.

I suppose you could delete their files from your server, then test to see if the admin modules page works properly. Then re-upload the files again, making sure to put them in the correct locations.

    No joy!

I ended up wiping everything off and starting again, thus have a clean copy with no alterations and still got the same error messages.

Well, first of all, that shouldn't happen.
I can't make it happen on a fresh install here, using built-in modules.

So, let's go step by step:

    1. Delete the files from your server
    2. Re-upload all the files to your server ... JUST the original Zen Cart files obtained from our site.
    3. Log into your Admin
    4. Go to Admin->Modules->Shipping
    What do you see?
What happens if you click Install on one of the modules?
What happens if you click Edit?

    5. Now upload the files for ONE of your addon modules.
    Which module?
What happens when you go to Admin->Modules->Shipping ?
What happens if you click Install on the module?

    6. Repeat for your other module.
    What happens?

Thanks for your help with this.

ok, I don't get any modules come up.

    I get

    TEXT_MODULE_DIRECTORY /home/liddyjoe/public_html/catalogue/includes/modules/shipping/

and the install button which gives me my error message when I click it

When you get A_BUNCHA_TEXT_IN_CAPS like that it usually means you're missing some PHP files which define the values of those constants SHOWN_IN_CAPS.

Your FTP program probably hasn't fully uploaded all files properly.
