Can't get Tax working - California

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but here are the config. things. In addition, I am attempting to use (and have uploaded all files) Local Sales Tax Mod for Zen Cart By:Heather Gardner (LadyHLG)

I'm sure I'm missing something really simple but I have tunnel vision and need the pro's to help me out here...thanks guys. If you want to play around in the store with this you can at www.vinashcoaching.com/store You'll see tax does show up under check-out but is always $0.00 and I'm testing accounts from the same city, state and country as the store.

First of all, Glad the fires missed you.

Second, you've got two different tax rates in there. 7% and 1.25%, I think it's supposed to be 7.25%

Third, make sure you only have CA zones in there. I still had Florida floating around before I got it all straight.

As far as the different tax rates, I'm attempting to use the mod I loaded to be a differential between state tax and local county tax. for instance there are something like 42 counties in CA and they all range from 6.5% on the low end to 8.75%. The sales and Use tax hot line in CA tells me that I can charge a cap of 7% unless the actual county tax is higher in which case I can charge the difference as well. Hence the 2 different taxes...this mod is suppose to allow for this exact situation, but either way I'd be happy with a universal 7% tax charging to all taxable goods in the store to all CA residence if I could get that going...also I got the FL on taken care of, but good suggestion as it eluded me for a while too hehe.

any other suggestions welcome.

I still haven't been able to figure out why taxes are not working...They show up upon checkout just as $0.00 I really need some help here guys, please post some ideas...thanks.

Perhaps removing the mod that changes the way the taxes work might be the place to start ... then the default tax handling could be used.

The Taxes were not working for me before, but sure if you'll help me troubleshoot it I'll be happy to remove the mod...but how do I do that hehe. Can I just remove the files and go from there? I know it sucks dealing with noobs but I'm trying lol. After I get the mod off, what should I do...I know the tax reading will still be 0, based off my original post is there anything I am missing in the configuration? Thanks for the continued help and support.
