Adding manufacturer image and desc

I want to include a manufacturer image and short description for each of my manufacturers when someone chooses an option from the shop by brand drop down menu.

Can anyone help me out with this?

You can add images for each manufacturer under Admin>Catalog>Manufacturers.

Unfortunately there is no where to input a description. This has been requested, but no one seems interested in doing it or developing a module for it. Kinda sucks.
