    Default Making test purchases/test mode

    Hi,

I have a broad, general question about testing. I have meticulously gone through the steps to set up the cart, both backend and security, ssl, gateway, webtools, etc.

I've gone through and added a few items and test 'bought' them with each of the CC's that it accepts and everything seems to work fine and haven't had too many problems so far.

The problem I see is showing the guy I made this site for how to use the site which I anticipate will require me to have him enter in some dummy items and go through most of what he'll need to do, followed by switching to the production server and having him actually buy some items we put up for .50 cents or so to make sure the gateway is working.

Am I going to have to go through every section applicable and delete all the records of my BS transactions and everything associated with them or is there a way to quickly rid the database of all the dummy info, etc?

Curious how others test/clean up, etc before going live with their sites?

    Thanks

cart error Re: Making test purchases/test mode

Not sure if this helps, but I extracted the following from the Zen Cart manual...

If you would like to see the images of your store's accepted credit cards as they appear in the preceding
screen shot, click on Configuration > Credit Cards and edit the Credit Card Enabled - Show on Payment
field accordingly. The images of the credit cards are contained in the directory <zchome>/
includes/templates/template_defaul t / images/ icons. Refer to “The Template Override
System” on page 270 to learn how you can change the images properly.
    5. Click the Credit Card radio button and use the following test values:
5.1. Retain the value of the Card Owner's Name or specify a new one if you desire.
5.2. Enter 4111111111111111 into the Card Number field. Zen Cart will recognize this as a test credit
    card number.
5.3. Specify any valid future date in the Expiration Date field.
5.4. Enter any number for the CVV Number field. This field will only appear if you have specified True
for the Collect and store the CVV number field while configuring this module.
    6. Click on continue checkout to proceed to the Order Confirmation screen. Notice that the middle digits of the
credit card number have been replaced with a sequence of 'X's.
