email error Send email when customer authorised?

I don't know if I am missing a switch in admin, but I have done a search in the forums and not come up with an answer.

Currently the shop I am putting together for a client is set so that the customer can sign up and browse without prices, and won't see the prices or be able to order until they are approved (as the client is a wholesaler). The customer is successfully receiving a welcome email when they sign up, and a copy of this email is being sent to the store owner (so far so good). So I know emails are working.

However, the store owner would like an email to be automatically generated when someone is approved (in admin), to notify the customer that they have been approved and can now shop. He would also like an automatic email if they haven't been approved, and the account is deleted, but I think I can convince him to send those manually!

I found this thread and made the alterations in admin/customers.php, but still no luck. I then checked the thread again and found that the version referred to was 1.3.0.2 and I am using 1.3.7.1. (Also using 4.4.7 (Zend: 1.3.0), MySQL 4.1.22 on Apache 1.3.37 if that helps).

Has there been additions between the two versions that allow this feature to be simply set? Do I need to put the code in customers.php back how it was? And if there isn't a switch, is there any easy way to do it?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Is there anyone who can help with this? I would really appreciate all suggestions.

The store owner doesn't want to go live until the auto email on authorisationi is working, and he's getting really stressed that the online store can't be used yet.

Thanks in advance for any help that may be given,

If you click on the Red dot on the customers listing to change the status to authorized, the email should be sent automatically.

Thanks so much for your help ... once I knew it was supposed to do it automatically, I put back the original code, tested and Voila! it worked.

The store owner will be really pleased ... much appreciated!
