sidebox placement

i'd like to have some sideboxes enabled on the main page and disabled on other pages and vice versa how would i start to go about doing this?

Look at the file includes/templates/template_default/common/tpl_main_page.php and there are guides for things like this that are commented out

i just not sure what to do with it for example i wouldn't mind having my reviews sidebox box pop up only in the product pages and 1 ezpage
