change fields required at checkout...

Where do I change the fields required during checkout? I would like Mr and Mrs to no be required, and I would like email address to not be required.

the e-mail one is located at
admin>Configuration>Customer Details.
Select Email Salutation then click the edit button.
select false then click the update button

Thanks. I removed the Mr and Mrs requirement.

I would also like to add some text next to email address field on the checkout screen... Does anyone know how to do that/which file to edit and where?
