    help question Automatically fill meta tag fields

    Hi,

    I'm transferring my store from oscommerce. In oscommerce, you can install a contribution to automatically fill the meta tag fields with the product description and title fields. Is that possible to do this with zen cart? I have searched this website and can't find anything. Does anyone know how I can do this?

    Thanks, I appreciate it!

    Zen Cart has built in the option to utilize the Title, Keywords and Description from either the product data or from customized settings on a per product basis ...

    For example, this is what Die Hard looks like by default:
    <title>Die Hard With A Vengeance Linked [DVD-DHWV] - $39.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce</title>
    <meta name="keywords" content="Die Hard With A Vengeance Linked [DVD-DHWV] Hardware Software DVD Movies Gift Certificates Big Linked Test Examples Free Call Stuff Test 10% by Attrib Test 10% A Top Level Cat Sale Percentage Sale Deduction Sale New Price Big Unlinked New v1.2 Music Documents Mixed Product Types ecommerce, open source, shop, online shopping" />
    <meta name="description" content="Zen Cart! Die Hard With A Vengeance Linked [DVD-DHWV] - Regional Code: 2 (Japan, Europe, Middle East, South Africa). Languages: English, Deutsch. Subtitles: English, Deutsch, Spanish. Audio: Dolby Surround 5.1. Picture Format: 16:9 Wide-Screen. Length: (approx) 122 minutes. Other: Interactive Menus, Chapter Selection, Subtitles (more languages). " />
    Or you can customize it:
    <title> My unique title [DVD-DHWV] - $39.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce</title>
    <meta name="keywords" content="my unique keywords are here ecommerce, open source, shop, online shopping" />
    <meta name="description" content="my unique description is here " />

    You know, I am usually pretty good at figuring things out, but it seems as if there is a gap in the info available for wanna be zen-cart users. I know the info is there...but how to get from step a to b, c, d, and e is tough.

    I am used to being able to find literal, step by step info in manuals. Since I am on a Mac, i was told the zen-cart books will not help. I will keep studying and I do SO appreciate your uber-fast response.

    Thank you again!

    As it is a book on how to use Zen Cart software and not a book on how to use a computer ... that is pretty useful ...

    The book itself is not computer-specific or operating-system specific.
    There is a section on running Zen Cart on a windows PC for testing, but the same steps can be easily adapted for Mac users. There is also info on the author's website for addendums and various tweaks for alternate approaches.
