    Default Payment received in Paypal, but not in Admin

    I do not receive my orders, but payments show up in Paypal. No trace of transaction in the IPN menu in the back end either

    My cart sells only virtual products with free shipping, so the shipping page is skipped (all products have free shipping)
    freeshipper module is enabled
    my paypal address is the primary, I tested with the IPN check script, all is OK according to the script:

    Code:
    IPNCHECK.PHP - Version 1.0
    IPN TESTING - POSTING to PayPal via: ssl://www.paypal.com:443
    IPN TESTING - Confirmation/Validation response: RESPONSE RECEIVED - Communications OKAY
    Script finished.
    My Paypal settings:
    the IPN is activated
    the return url is provided (the one that zencart provides in the module)
    payment data transfer is on

    I turned on the debug, placed a dummy order and found out that :

    between breakpoint 2 and breakpoint 3 the following message: IPN WARNING::Could not find matched txn_id record in DB

    Breakpoint 5: txn_type=unknown

    and the last email starts with:
    IPN WARNING:: Could not establish txn type unknown

    I am having the same problem. I am currently using version 1.3.7 and had two orders lost on zencart – in the past three weeks. I received a PayPal notification that the customer paid – in addition I got a zenid number with the payPal order (like I always do). When I search this customer, I see she’s a member but has not transactions. I have used a third party zencart utility call “view stuck payPal orders” and there is no record of her transaction.

    Could there be a problem with the database? I have not optimized the database – ever. Would this help.

    When you don't get the order created in Zen Cart, the problem is almost always a failure in communications from PayPal's server to your server.

    You can get around this problem by using the PDT capabilities in the updated IPN module or by using Express Checkout instead.

    Thanks Dr. Byte for the quick response!! What is the PDT capabilities? Is there an updated IPN Module? If so can you send me a link to the update.

    John what version of Zen Cart are you using?
