Default Building Site and Contents Offline - Any Problem?

I am building both the site and putting on product content on my local machine (using XAMPP) and testing locally. It suddenly occurred to me that I may not be able to upload (in due course) my MySQL database with my products etc. in it to the server proper without encountering problems of which I am not currently aware. I hope that I can without any hitch as setting up the product information is not an insubstantial task time-wise - I just wanted to check that I am not wide of the mark.
    Thanks for any help.

Used this method several times..no problems..as long
as you can save/copy mysql database on your home
computer..you could use admin mysql database backup
if in doubt.(this mod in downloads section..link at top of this page).
When you upload your local copy, you will need to alter
the 2 config files to reflect move to online server, and have
facility to upload mysql database you saved.

xampp uses phpMyAdmin just as most hosts. You'll simply use the export feature at home to create a .sql file and import the file using the phpMyAdmin in your host's control panel.

Many thanks. At least I know that I can make it work as I had hoped. I was worried that I may have overlooked something basic.
    Thanks again,
