red flag Problems with installation in cPanel

    Hello...
I'm new to Zen-Cart, and I was trying to install it from the cPanel of a website I'm working on. I was able to do the install but this is what happens when I reach the store domain:

    The store domain is http://mcotto.com/tienda/
Then this is what appears in the page:

    1146 Table 'miguel_zc1.zen_db_cache' doesn't exist
    in:
    [db_cache table]

And nothing more. I cannot reach the administrator page of the store for the same problem. Does anyone out there knows what could be the problem?

Thanks a lot for any help you may give me. This is very urgent.

Scrap the installation you did and start over.

    1) create a database for your Zen Cart and make a note of the database name, user ID and password. If you've already created the database, just make sure you know the information I mentioned.

    2) download a copy of the latest version of Zen Cart using the "downloads" link at the top of the page.

    3) unzip it on your local computer

    4) FTP all the folders/files to your website

    5) run zc_install by opening a browser and entering http://www.yourdomain.com/zc_install

    Follow the instructions from there.

    Good Luck and Happy Zenning!

Looking at your post again... make sure you entered the right database name in the config.

Thanks for your help, but I have no idea of how to create a database. I have never created one, much less one that needs password and username.

The database information was probably created when you installed Zen Cart from the control panel (most likely through Fantastico).

You can get that information from CPanel. Look for an icon that says MySQL Databases. You should be able to get the database name and user from there.

This would also be the way to create a database (there'll be an input box for that).
