USPS Shipping: Username or Password?

Setting up my USPS Shipping in Zen Cart v 1.3.7.1. In the USPS Shipping module config I am given a single box to enter the USPS Web Tools User ID. When I registered with USPS I was sent a Username and a Password. Which one do I use as the Web Tools User ID? None of my tests are passing the USPS test server using either the Username or Password USPS sent me. Thanks! - BB

Years and Years ago ... it was required to use both ... now it is not for this particular Real Time Quote ...

So just enter the USPS Web Tools User ID ...

NOTE: you do have to call or email USPS to activate your account once you have received your USPS Web Tools User ID ...

Your Username is ************
Your Password is *************

Your Web Tools User ID, shown above, is required to test and integrate USPS Web Tools APIs. >>>>>>>>>>

They are naming the User ID as the Username and Password together.

Which do I use as my ID? Username? or Password?

Then are you saying to go live without a successful test? Is that proper protocol?

"testing" is only necessary if you're writing your own new website rate-quoting system.

Zen Cart has already done that part, so you can go directly to Production mode.


Your Username is all that's needed in order to get rate quotes.
The password is not needed in Zen Cart.
