Private Shopping Cart

I'm new to Zen Cart and I have this issue. I'v done numerous searches and can'tt find a solution. I do not want the public to be able to view my shopping at all. I do not want anyone to be able to create a account automatically. I want to be able to manually add the customer account in the admin and force all vistors to login before be able to view the shopping cart. Is this possiable?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All of this is possible with zencart.

In the ADMIN CONSOLE, there are "switches" (selections) that you make, that will get the store to behave in the manner you want. It takes about a minute to turn a PUBLIC store into a PRIVATE store.

Ok I have got were you have to login to view cart but when you go to login it stills give the option to create a account. I do not want anyone to be able to create account at all. I found a module to add customer in the admin but do not know how to turn off the form to create a account.

To cut to the chase...

Admin > Configuration > My Store : Store Status

What is your Store Status
0= Normal Store
1= Showcase no prices
2= Showcase with prices

Either Showcase mode prevents / does not show link, for Create an Account.


Admin > Configuration > Customer Details : Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices

Customer must be approved to shop
0= Not required
1= Must login to browse
2= May browse but no prices unless logged in
3= Showroom Only

i am needing only certain categories to be private. in other words, i;d like my store to be public for everyone, but certain categories (food items that we do not ship) can only be shopped by local "club members."

is there a way to do this?

Scott Wilson developed some script for me a while ago that restricts certain categories to "club" members only. Send him a PM - swguy.
