Trying new install get parse error

Hi
I am installing zen cart version V1.3.7.1
I keep getting the following error can anyone help please.
Parse error: parse error in ../includes/classes/class.base.php on line 35

Parse errors during fresh installs are usually a result of failed FTP uploads of multiple files, and not always just on the file where the error is being reported.

I suggest re-uploading, and watch your FTP program for any failed uploads and make sure it redoes them.

Thanks for the info --- I have loaded the same files onto another server without any problems and reloaded the files on the server causing a problem and still get the error --- so I guess it's server folk :ohmy:
