help question Credit Card security issue

    Hi guys!

I am having some issues with Customers about my lack of Credit Card security. I thought everything was how it should be but clearly I am missing something.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what I can do about showing Customers that Credit Card payments through our site are secure? We do them offline with a NAB account and I amused that the encrypting and emailing that Zen Cart does with a Credit Card number was enough.
Do I need something like this add on? http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=680

Or is there any other SSL addon's I need?
    Thanks in advance!

Most savvy web buyers expect to see the https protocol in their browser address bar and the padlock below their browser window. That only appears if you have a valid SSL certificate installed.

You did not say whether or not you are actually using a GoDaddy SSL certificate. You need to buy and install an SSL certificate in order to encrypt the communications between a user's browser and your server. That is what SSL does. Without it, they are broadcasting their credit card information across the Internet.

If you do not have an SSL certificate, using the GoDaddy contribution will not work.

If you need an SSL certificate and are not real strong with technical skills, contact your hosting company and buy one from them. They will install it for you.

Tech-E, I have a really simple question, at least I hope it's simple.

I'm using ZC v1.3.8a and ZC is installed here

I have purchased an SSL through rapidSSL and it has been installed. Sadly, this comes at the end of my project. As I navigate through the cart, none of the pages show https in the URL.

Does ZC detects this by default or do I need to do something extra to ensure all pages are displayed as https?

Do I need to set Check SSL Session ID to True under Admin / Configureation / sessions? or perhaps this is a caching issue? with browser or ZC? if ZC, how do I clear it?

    Thank you for your help.

Once the SSL certificate is installed, it is pretty simple to turn the encryption on for the appropriate pages. Just follow the instructions that Kim provided.
