Interac Online Payment System

Interac Online is a new payment option for Canadian merchants that sends a customer directly to his/her bank's online banking page. After the online purchase, all the details of the purchase are transferred to the customer's bank and the customer can then approve the transfer of funds from his/her bank account for direct deposit into the merchant's bank account. It basically works similar to a debit card. No credit cards are involved.

This is a different system than the Certapay system. Certapay allows people to email payments to someone else. Interac Online is done through a bank online banking systems.

I would like to have this as a payment option on my Zen Cart site in addition to the usual CC, PayPal, money order options. Does anyone know how this can be done, or can anyone develop a mod for this? I am not proficient enough to do this myself, so I would appreciate any help from anyone.

This would be a great mod for all Canadian Zen Cart users since it would provide customers with another payment option. It would be an attractive payment option for those without a credit card, or for those who prefer not to use their card online. There is no risk for the customer to use this system so it may help to increase sales for Canadian merchants.

I am currently in the process of setting my merchant account and gateway. I will either be going with Moneris or InternetSecure.

I may be interested in using Beanstream. I was leaning towards Moneris, but I have not decided fully yet.

How long until you have the Beanstream mod finished?

I was hoping to find a couple people to help cover some development costs. I anticipate being able to complete it within the next couple weeks, depending on sponsors. The sooner I have sponsors, the sooner it'll be completed

Are you working on the whole Beanstream mod or just adding Interac Online to it. I read in the forum that the Beanstream mod had bugs in it. Will it be fully operational for both Interac and CC acceptance when you are done?

Will your mod let customers stay on the website during the payment proccess or will it direct them to a hosted page?

With the right sponsorship it will be a fully functional module. CC, interac, stay on website to do payment. A rewrite from the ground up.
