advanced search error after upgrading?

I am getting an error identical to one reported to V 1.2.5, namely, when advanced search is attempted, The cart bombs and I receive the error:

1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'from where manufacturers_id = 0' at line 2
in:
[select from where manufacturers_id = 0]"

website: inkspotantiques.com zen-cart 1.3.7, PHP Version 4.4.6, Apache CGI, mySQL 5.2.5. I upgraded from earlier versions of zen-cart a while back.

I tried the reported fix for for the 1.2.5 database, but that SQL code was not executable because of variable name changes.

Possibilities that I can think of is perhaps and old file was left on the server, the database was never properly updated to 1.3.7, or maybe something else.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As noted above, I tried this, but I attempted to make the change through my webhost's phpAdmin, and it did not work. However, within Zen-Cart Admin pages it worked like a charm on the Install SQL Patch page under Tools. I upgraded from 1.2.7? to 1.3.7; don't know why the database was not altered during the upgrade.
